Who we are looking for

We are seeking a creative and talented Packaging Design Lead who enjoys working in a fast-paced, agile environment. As the Packaging Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading the packaging design process from ideation to production. You love the challenge of discovering what makes consumers engage with packaging.

You will be a part of the Global Brand Design team and will work closely with other cross-functional teams like the eyewear design team, merchandising and manufacturing teams, to create packaging solutions that effectively communicate our brand and product messaging.

You will be responsible for

  • Leading the packaging design process from initial ideation to final production.

  • Building an overall packaging experience across categories ranging from eyeglasses, sunglasses, powered sunglasses, computer glasses, contact lenses, reading glasses, a variety of sports eyewear, swimming eyewear, color lenses, and a lot more!

  • Developing innovative ideas for packaging & unboxing experience, both structurally and functionally with complete understanding and effectiveness of material, fabrication, treatment.

  • Collaborating internally with cross functional partners and externally with vendors such as printers and manufacturers to set up streamlined processes and ways of working for seamless execution.

  • End to end prototype supervision to ensure best output.

  • Develop and maintain packaging design standards, guidelines, and templates

  • Conduct research on industry trends and competitor packaging to stay up-to-date with best practices

  • Manage the packaging design schedule and ensure timely delivery of projects

  • Create and present design concepts and strategies to internal stakeholders

  • Participate in product development meetings to ensure packaging design meets functional requirements

Job requirements

What you will bring to this role

  • A degree in design or a design-related discipline ((Product/ industrial design, packaging design)

  • 6-10 years of packaging design and prototyping experience with a variety of materials and construction techniques

  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and 3D modeling tools

  • Strong sense of style and great understanding of packaging materials / aesthetics and manufacturing processes and familiarity with sustainability and regulatory requirements for packaging design.

  • Strong attention to details and ability to work within a fast-paced work environment while working on multiple projects at one time.

  • Excellent project management and communication skills with an ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

  • Hustle to constantly experiment and develop new concepts and innovations in packaging to define what’s next

  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work independently as well as follow creative directions.
