Twelve years back, Lenskart was started by a 26-year old entrepreneur - because he wanted to solve the problem of preventive blindness. We had humble beginnings - we spread awareness about eyecare, we took orders for eyeglasses online and shipped them to customers from a warehouse that was the size of a modern-day conference room.

As of today, little by little, Lenskart has served 40 Million people across the globe - helping them see better and lead better quality lives. Simultaneously, we’ve also built ourselves up to be Asia’s largest eyewear company. We have 10,000+ Lenskartians worldwide, more than 1500 Omni channel stores across 175 cities in India, Singapore and Dubai and cut to 2022 - we are shipping a pair of eyewear every 2.5 seconds, from the world’s most automated eyewear factory!

In 2022, Lenskart partnered with Owndays and took a majority stake in the Japanese-owned eyewear player that has a deep presence in Asia. With this partnership, we have added an additional 400 stores and extended our reach to 13 countries.

About the team

Our international businesses are young and hustling, growing at warp speed to cater to larger shares of their respective markets. At present, we have a distribution presence of more than 40 retail stores across Singapore and UAE, and active expansion plans across Asia and the Middle east regions.

Job requirements

As the Retail Head, your primary role entails ensuring the collective success of all retail outlets in the region. This involves optimizing profitability and sales volumes across retail operations, including effective management of warehouses throughout the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expertise, leadership, vision, and guidance to propel the strategic direction of the retail operation towards achieving exceptional performance across all retail aspects.
  • Develop a comprehensive retail strategy aimed at maximizing profitability of the current portfolio while outlining a clear vision for future growth.
  • Lead, support, and inspire the retail team, overseeing performance management, including direct managers and visual merchandisers.
  • Collaborating with the merchandising, marketing and tech teams to deliver on the right customer experience
  • Foster a team culture centered on empowerment and growth, emphasizing the creation of delightful customer experiences that surpass conventional standards.
  • Strategize, set, and manage the annual retail operating budget, quarterly forecasting as necessary, and implementing corrective measures for underperformance.
  • Establish a structured approach to utilize data for sales analysis, informing decision-making processes effectively.
  • Champion the implementation and evaluation of an ambitious yet achievable retail strategy, accompanied by delivery plans to optimize revenue and identify new growth prospects.
  • Ensure the availability of appropriate resources, systems, policies, processes, and guidelines, while ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.

Who we are looking for

  • The right candidate must possess robust retail experience in the Middle East, with a preference for a background in fashion.
  • You must have demonstrated proficiency in commercial and analytical skills is essential.
  • Experience in stakeholder management at senior levels is crucial.
