Design Manager

Job description

The incumbent shall be responsible for the designing and executing of projects identified time to time:

Key Responsibilities:

 Designing of our stores at a Pan India Level

 Execution of new store project work at a pan India Level

 Scouting for vendors for store project work

 Work on developing new technology/materials etc to get the best quality & costs.

 Store Layout Planning

 Store Working Drawings

 Store Visual Merchandising

 Co-ordinating with mall & statutory agencies for getting the required permissions

 Work with retail team on the store renovation work and the new store project work.

 Maintenance of LT / HT Electrical system in the stores, A/c, UPS and batteries, CCTV, FAS, PAS,

Telephone, signage and other interior civil elements etc.

 Managing the various Annual Maintenance Contracts.

 Liasoning with statutory / Government bodies like Electricity board & inspectorate etc.

 Resource conservation initiatives for conserving energy, fuel, carbon foot print reduction etc.

 Responsible for up-gradation of obsolete equipment’s in the existing stores and validation of various

technical aspects including maintenance being considered while design & development.

 Selection and co-ordinate with various suppliers, vendors, contractors to carry out on time maintenance

activities and work with line functions to provide simplified engineering solution

 Ensuring the availability of key spares by way of effective sourcing

 To draw up and monitor preventive maintenance schedule for the individual stores.

 Breakdown maintenance and collect data on breakdowns and take corrective actions to reduce down time.

 Monitoring and controlling maintenance cost.

 Statutory and legal procedures relating to Pollution control board etc.,

 Budget preparation, Spares Planning and Budget monitoring and Maintenance MIS

 Exploring emerging Maintenance practices like Predictive Maintenance, Condition Monitoring, Remote

Maintenance, etc.

 Certification of work, bills, drawing schedule of payment, fund flow statement, ensuring on time payment

to the agencies.

 To map the actual expenditure Vs the budgeted one for all the projects and investigate on the cost overrun /

saving to improve the cost Performance

 Updating the breakdown details in History card.

 Working on the Green Initiatives of the company

Job requirements

Person’s Specifications:

 Bachelor in Architecture/ Civil/ Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering with 8 - 12 years of

experience in retail fit-out / utility maintenance / plant Maintenance / facilities management would be

preferred.

 Proficiency in Project Management.

 People Management

 Troubleshooting skills in retail projects / plant / facilities Maintenance

 Hands-on experience in electrical / mechanical system  Good interpersonal, analytical and trouble shooting skills

 Willingness to travel and sound knowledge in basics of engineering

 A sound understanding of Retail Store planning, Visual Merchandising & fit-out.

 Ability to drive and motivate a team to achieve targets
